Site Manager / School Caretaker – September 2025 Start
Location: Maidstone
Daily Rate: £115–£120 per day
Supply Desk are currently seeking a reliable, proactive, and experienced Site Manager to join the team at one of our large and well-regarded secondary schools in Maidstone. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2025, with flexible working hours between 6:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
The school staff are proud of their supportive and welcoming environment and are looking for a dedicated individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards of site safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
About the Role:
As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the school’s premises are maintained to a high standard, safe for students and staff, and fully operational at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
- Opening and closing the school each day
- Performing daily site checks and routine maintenance
- Basic plumbing, electrics, decorating, and minor repairs
- Managing contractors on-site and overseeing works
- Maintaining health & safety standards, including fire safety and legionella testing
- Ensuring COSHH compliance and accurate record keeping
- Portering duties and effective waste management
- Preparing the site during adverse weather (snow, ice, etc.)
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience in caretaking, site management, or facilities maintenance (preferably in an educational setting)
- Be confident handling tools and performing a range of maintenance tasks
- Have a strong understanding of Health & Safety standards
- Be flexible, trustworthy, and able to work independently
- Be based locally in or near Maidstone
