
Role: Leaving Care Personal Advisor

About the Role:
Purpose of this Post This post is defined by the Children Leaving Care Act, 2000 and attendant guidance and regulation. The post holder will take case responsibility and assess the needs of Eligible, Relevant and Former Relevant young people to determine the level of advice, assistance and support in their transition to independence to ensure that they are able to maximise their life chances.
Complexity varies considerably between individual young people. Initially, may target specific areas of work for other worker's cases e.g. getting visits and Pathway Plans up to date. The manager may allocate duty work depending on workload.
Hybrid: Initial induction period may require more office-based working whilst getting to know the work, most PAs are out and about doing visits for a large proportion of their time, and updating records at home after these is OK if preferred. Requirement for attendance at team Meetings and Team Protected Admin days every 2 weeks.
Area to cover: Westmoreland and Furness, with cases to visit in the North west (and possibly further afield from time to time by negotiation)
Who we are looking for:
- 3+ years of Personal Advisor within Childrens Social care
- Car driver due to the out of area work required
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong case management and problem-solving ability.
- Resilience and empathy when working with complex cases.
