Job Type: 3 month locum contract with a view to extend
Shifts: Full or part time hours considered
About the Role:
HCRG Staffing are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in Brent, North West London for a local authority / Council.
Our client is looking for an Occupational Therapist to work in a front door team. 15 day turnaround to assess, provide or discharge to complex care team - fast paced team. The successful Occupational Therapist would need to have moving and handling experience. Stabilising complex cases before transferring experience too.
Local authority experience desirable - not essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- To complete person centred occupational therapy functional assessments of Adults living in the community, in order to identify their physical, sensory, psychological, cognitive needs in relation to their Activities of Daily Living, within their environment and support systems.
- To identify appropriate short treatment plans in conjunction with the clients and families and carers, where appropriate in order to address the needs identified in the occupational therapy assessment.
- To recognise safeguarding concerns relating to adults with care and support needs. To identify and raise safeguarding concerns relating to adults with care and support needs.
- To hold a protected caseload increasing through progression of the occupational therapy preceptorship/development programme
- To complete occupational therapy assessments in a timely manner and to provide a copy to the person in receipt of services.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licenses: HCPC registered
- Experience: 2 years experience.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassion and patience when working with vulnerable individuals. Ability to use own initiative to provide information and support to other staff
