Janitor - Location: Dumfries, DG1 4FD - Duration: 3 months - Hours: 35 per week - Pay Rate: £14.45 per hour - Start Date: ASAP About The Role: We are recruiting a Janitor for a third-party client based in Dumfries. This is a key role providing a high-quality, customer-facing support service to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of the building. Key Responsibilities: - Provide a high-quality support service for the buildings and grounds. - Patrol buildings and grounds, ensuring users comply with conduct, noise, and food policies. - Supervise the main entrance and surrounding areas, enforcing no-smoking and parking rules. - Assist with building access and maintenance during emergencies such as snow or minor floods. - Support statutory testing and compliance checks, including fire safety and legionella checks. - Provide janitorial assistance for College events, including evening and external functions. - Relocate equipment and furniture for events and room setups. - Assist in maintaining the security of the premises and conduct minor maintenance tasks. Key Skills & Requirements: - Experience in a janitorial or maintenance role. - A valid driving licence. - PVG certification for working with adults and children (or willingness to obtain). - Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines. - Understanding of key-holding operations. - Knowledge of fire and security alarm systems. - Ability to follow risk assessments and method statements before engaging in tasks.
