The Role
As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of claims related to the recovery of costs incurred due to third-party damage to our client’s assets. You will also oversee incoming claims from other utility companies regarding network damage, ensuring efficient and effective resolution. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent time management, will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
? Managing a caseload of damage claims ranging from £100 to £1m+, ensuring timely resolution within the Delegations of Authority.
? Establishing and maintaining key customer contacts while managing outstanding debts.
? Using IT applications such as Solcase, GIS, EAM, Spatial, OMS, and Oracle.
? Applying an understanding of relevant legislation and guidance when handling claims.
? Handling technical queries and disputes professionally and efficiently.
? Identifying problematic claims and determining the best course of action.
? Understanding the costing of damage repairs and associated overheads.
? Providing excellent customer service when dealing with disputes and queries.
? Supporting the claims administration team and colleagues.
? Attending meetings with third parties or their representatives to resolve liability and cost issues.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
?? Minimum 2 A Levels (Grade C or above) OR NVQ Level 3 OR ONC in Business Management
?? Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
?? Experience working as part of a team
?? Strong written and spoken communication skills
?? Proven customer service abilities
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
?? Previous experience in claims, insurance, or legal-related work
