Catering Supervisor

Manpower Recruitment are teaming up with an established college in the heart of Oxford City centre.
We are recruiting for a Catering Supervisor to join a busy, established team.
The role is full time, working 5/7 days and operational hours are between 7am-10pm, Monday through to Sunday.
Working shifts will be 7.30am-2.30pm, 10am-8pm or 2pm-10pm.
The salary for the role is £26942.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The Catering Supervisor's role will include, but is not limited to, the following tasks and responsibilities:
- To assist with the supervision of the delivery of catering services within college ensuring that breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner in the Hall are served and appropriately serviced during term time and during the conference seasons and that menus with allergy information are clearly visible
- To take student and senior members meal numbers ensuring tables are laid appropriately.
- To assist with the monitoring of stock levels of non-food products and order when necessary.
- To assist with office administration including the preparation of weekly menus and function notes and any other documentation as necessary.
- To ensure that areas are always kept clean.
- To assist in the training of staff in hygiene, COSHH and health and safety.
- To manage functions with a hands-on approach in the absence of the Head Butler and Deputy Head Butler including the supervision of staff and the recording of timesheets, ensuring members of staff adhere to the College's regulations on the wearing of uniform and PPE.
- To be responsible for the completion and submission of cleaning schedules and temperature charts for the Servery.
- Ensure compliance with the College's health and safety policy and food hygiene regulations and ensure any defects are reported to the Head Butler or Deputy Head Butler.
- To operate the checkout (cashless system) for student meals.
- Communicate and liaise with other members of the SCR and catering/kitchen team, working together to ensure high standards are maintained.
- To attend training and development as and when requested including COSHH, health and safety training and food hygiene training.
- In conjunction with the Head Butler and Deputy Head Butler, to ensure the Servery is adequately but not over-staffed for student/staff meals and formal dinners which may mean covering duties themselves when short staffed if necessary.
- Ensure that maintenance faults are reported in a timely manner and follow up action is taken.
- Any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Head Butler, Deputy Head Butler or Domestic Bursar. The post-holder will be expected to be flexible and perform different tasks as necessitated by the changing role within the College's organisation and objectives.
