Catering Assistant Responsibilities
As a Catering Assistant, your duties may include:
- Preparing and serving hot and cold food items
- Supporting chefs and kitchen teams during service
- Serving customers and delivering excellent customer service
- Operating tills and handling payments where required
- Assisting with hospitality functions, buffets and events
- Clearing down and closing units at the end of shifts
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Following food safety and food allergen legislation at all times
- Ensuring food service areas remain clean, organised and well stocked
- Working closely with kitchen and front of house teams to deliver an efficient service
What We Are Looking For In Our Catering Assistants
- Previous experience working as a Catering Assistant or within a catering or food service role is essential
- Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete them, is essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced catering environments
- A positive, reliable and professional approach to work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for delivering excellent service and supporting busy catering operations
Pay Information
Pay rates for our Catering Assistant roles are dependent on previous experience and the specific job role being undertaken. The applicable pay rate for each Catering Assistant position will be clearly stated within the individual job posting.
