Job Title: Accountant Contract Duration: 12th May 2025 – 28th June 2026 Hours: 35 hours per week Rate: £28.15 per hour (£51,371 per annum) Location: Home-Based About the Role: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CCAB-qualified Accountant to manage a financial support team for a nominated service department. The successful candidate will provide expert financial support and advice for medium and long-term financial planning, including capital and revenue budget preparation and monitoring. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the financial support team, ensuring effective service delivery. - Provide strategic financial advice to support medium- and long-term planning for the nominated service department. - Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and management of capital and revenue budgets. - Offer financial performance reporting and support service reviews, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction initiatives. - Support the Finance Manager in key corporate finance services such as tax management, financial accounting (including year-end accounts), treasury management, and asset management. - Contribute to corporate objectives and participate in cross-service working groups and Best Value Review teams. - Assist with the development and delivery of Service/Business Plans. - Champion equality and inclusion in service provision and employment. Essential Requirements: - CCAB-qualified Accountant with relevant experience. - Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with professional body requirements. - Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in financial planning and budgetary control. - Ability to provide strategic financial advice and contribute to corporate objectives. - Experience in financial performance reporting and supporting efficiency improvement initiatives. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
